Introduction
Okay.... I admit. I am a computer illiterate! so when I first got to know about this course, I got intimidated.... it was really hard for me... all these while, I am happy enough and feel completely safe in my comfort zone; my knowledge on ICT just covers all the required basics - e.g. email, using PPts and Words.... that's it! So yes, I was afraid.... But luckily, with the help of supportive friends and lecturers, I think I'm quite okay now... of course, there's still a long way to go; lot's of stuff to learn again - but now at least I've gained confidence in myself.... and I think it's a good sign. I mean, I HAVE MY OWN BLOG NOW! How cool is that?! And to think I would have never had such an opportunity if it wasn't for this course - a course that I was afraid of, but now am finding it very useful and practical....
Reflection
So, my first step in this journey with GE1155 begins with a change of HEART and MIND. It took quite some time for me to adjust myself with all the requirements, but thank God i managed to....
Then, here comes the technical stuff.... We are required to create an email account (gmail and yahoo mail), create an official blog and Facebook acc, and also create a Yahoo Group. It was a challenge, I have to admit. But again, thanks to my helpful friends and lecturers, I managed... =)
Creating the emails and the FB and the YahooGroup was okay. The steps are pretty easy, as instructions are quite clear. I really am thankful for the people who manage these stuffs, because they made it pretty user-friendly... but the blog.... (sigh). It was tough. A totally new thing for me... so what did I do? I looked for peer support, especially from those who already has their own personal blog. and you know what? after they laid down the basics and taught me a few stuff (e.g. how to edit & publish posts, how to design my blog, how to adjust the settings, etc.) after going through all that, I honestly felt relieved! because now, at least I have knowledge on basic blogging, and could freely express myself like I'm doing now..... wheee!!
So there you have it - my journey to self-discovery in the world of ICT.....
Oh, and one last thing.... we are required to make a signature as well... so check out mine!
